I'm not a huge movie person, but I absolutely love Christmas movies. In fact, when people ask what my favorite move is, I answer, Home alone! I love the hallmark Christmas happiness that comes with these types of films. Here are some of my family's favorite Christmas movies that are always on repeat in our house.
Home Alone
Home Alone is a 1990 American Christmas comedy film directed by Chris Columbus, and written and produced by John Hughes. The first film in the Home Alone franchise, the film stars Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an eight-year old boy who defends his Chicago home from a home invasion by a pair of robbers after his family accidentally leave him behind on their Christmas vacation to Paris. The cast also features Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, and Catherine O'Hara. (Wikipedia)Home Alone has always been one of my favorite movies, and I think it is because the main character, Kevin, gets left home alone to his own devices. As an only child, I often think about all the things I would do if I were left home alone, and this movie is such a fun culmination of those thoughts. I also loved the Rubgolberg style traps that Kevin sets up to catch the robbers. I would know the movie so well I could quote it from memory.
10/10 Chris Columbus just did everything right with this movie. Childhood classic.
This was my favorite part of the movie. I loved how he made this whole plan to protect his house. This drawing perfectly captures that sense of childhood imagination.
